In Disney’s Riviera Resort
Disney World’s newest resort will make you feel like you are staying right on the French Riviera. It’s all the glitz and glamour you would expect to find with a stay on the French Riviera and we loved every second of it!
1. The Skyliner
Undoubtedly, the biggest draw for me to this resort is having the Disney Skyliner at your disposal. The Skyliner connects to both Hollywood Studios and to EPCOT. You can also easily access the Disney Boardwalk area if you exit at the EPCOT station and go right instead of left into the park. It also connects to Disney’s Pop Century, Art of Animation, and Carribean Beach Resorts.
This is a good resort to stay in if you want to embark on the Disney Skyliner Bar Crawl!
Like with other Disney properties, this resort has multiple categories of rooms. From Tower Studios to 3 Bedroom Villas, you have a vast range for every budget to choose from. We stayed at the Studio with an EPCOT view and really enjoyed it. The rooms are gorgeous and very well equipped!
Now, without further ado in true foodie fashion, let’s move on to the good stuff; the food options at this resort…
- Character Dining available for breakfast: Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends (click for review)
- Breakfast – 7:30 AM to 12:15 PM
- Dinner – 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM
- Hours: 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
I think this is my favorite quick service amongst all the Disney Resorts! Even when we’re not staying here, we often stop here for breakfast or lunch. You can easily place a mobile order and as soon as your order is ready you’ll receive a notification to go pick it up.
What I’ve had:
- Croque Madame ($10.79)
- Blueberry-Lemon Pancakes ($11.29)
- Mickey-shaped Waffles ($10.49)
- Sausage and Pepperoni Hearth Baked Pizzas ($11.99)
- Tomato Soup ($4.79)
- Hours: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
What I’ve had:
- Magical Beacon Cocktail ($17): Empress 1908 Gin, Bols Blue Curaçao, Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade, Orgeat (Almond), Lemon, Hibiscus Grenadine and a souvenir Glow Cube
- Italian Sangría Blanco ($11): THIS IS A NO FOR ME (this is not sangria, I’m sorry)!!!
Bar Riva is one of the stops on the Disney Skyliner Bar Crawl we completed. Click here for more on that… & shoutout to Club D3 for the encouragement and drink recs along the way!
- Hours: 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Alike other Disney Resorts, there are many activities posted on a daily bulletin. These include movies under the stars, campfire activities etc. There is also a fitness center on property, or if you prefer running there is a marked running path that takes you around the neighboring Caribbean Beach Resort bridge and back.
5. The Resort Grounds:
Like I said before, this resort is absolutely beautiful and truly makes you feel like you’re in France. They even play Disney music in French throughout the resort areas to enhance your experience even further!
Possibly my favorite place in this resort is the Voyageurs’ Lounge in the main lobby. It is filled with Disney memorabilia, french Disney music playing, and old photos of Walt. The perfect setting and ambiance, I could spend hours here.
There are 2 pools and 1 splash pool for kids. The main pool has activities throughout the day and an ice cream cart where you can order on hot summer days. The second pool is more of an “adult only” feel with a large hot tub.
The mosaics and fountains on your way to/from the Skyliner are a big highlight of the property. The first time I saw them, I was completely mesmerized by their vastness and detail!
6. Proximity to other Resorts:
This is also a big plus because you could not only enjoy the facilities at your own resort but also at neighboring resorts like in this case the vast Caribbean Beach Resort. We walked right over for a drink at their bar and to enjoy some hammocks on the beach.
Pro tip: The hammocks on the beach right next to the Riviera Resort are a great place to unwind after the parks. Simply lay back and watch the Skyliner go by.
