In Villain’s Lair (DVC Top of the World Member Lounge)

In Disney’s Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort

I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it is because they recently reopened and have not gotten the hang of things yet… but this space is large and yet they have people on a 3 hour wait list downstairs for no good reason. There is plenty of space up there for everyone that was waiting downstairs but they were letting people from the 6pm waitlist up at 9pm when we arrived. Luckily, we had stopped by and put our names on the list earlier and although we were not yet called when we arrived at 9pm they let us up just in time for fireworks (9:20pm). The balcony has space for A LOT of people so I do think it’s unfair to leave so many people waiting downstairs when there’s room for us all up there!

For reference it’s a Saturday at 9:12pm in this video and fireworks start 9:20pm – so you can see there’s still plenty of room for more people.

The bar was recently reimaniged and themed after Disney Villains, you can see what it looks like here:

What to drink:

  1. The Tower Trap ($17) – Askur45 Gin, Yellow Chartreuse, Orange Blossom Honey, Traditional Black Tea, touch of cucumber and fresh lime *This might be my new favorite drink on Disney property!*
  2. Man In The Forest ($15) – Handcrafted Widow Jane straight bourbon Old Fashioned, Martini & Rossi sweet vermouth, Blandy’s 10 yr Madeira, Baking Spices and Ginger Bitters
  3. The Underworld ($15) – Handcrafted traditional Spanish Opici white sangria, peach puree, Blue Curacao orange liqueur

The drinks here are phenomenal!!!! Shoutout to the awesome bartenders – Sarah, Addy, Chad, and April (& Scott the manager)!

And if that wasn’t enough… look at this view:

After this night, I am 100% convinced that there is nothing more magical than watching the firework show with your friends/family PLUS a delicious cocktail in hand.

I mean, it’s no secret this is the best view spot for the Magic Kingdom firework show… the bar dims the lights and plays the music for the show, making the experience simply breathtaking!
