In Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

1. The Boardwalk

I love both the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts because you get to enjoy being on Disney’s BoardWalk without actually staying at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort (whoms rooms are more outdated in my opinion). There is nothing like the view of the BoardWalk at night that you get ONLY if you stay at either the Yacht or Beach Club Resorts (with lake view rooms). Also, the amount of restaurants and entertainment available just a walk away is unparalleled when staying here. Some of our favorites include: The BoardWalk Ice Cream, the Flying Fish restaurant (reviewed here), the AbracadaBar, and Jellyrolls dueling piano bar.

2. The Boats/Skyliner Transportation

Another giant plus to staying at these Resorts is having the option to take both the Skyliner and the Friendship Boats to other resorts or to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios Parks.

Although you can technically walk right over to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, if you’re tired you can take the Friendship boats from the docks straight to each park. We do usually take the boats to Hollywood Studios but we often just walk over to EPCOT since it is less than a 1/2 mile to EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance.

4. The Rooms

A giant plus for us is that The Yacht club has pet friendly accomodations! My dog, Mako loves staying here with us. But also, the rooms at the Yacht Club are all very spacious and the nautical decor with hidden Mickeys is just perfect! Book a room here: Yacht Club Resort Rooms.

Now on to the Beach Club…

This is a DVC Resort for those of you interested on booking that way and it’s one of the reasons we stay here a lot! For more info on DVC click here: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DVC!

5. The Pools

Stormalong Bay – a beachside waterpark complete with a lazy river, 230-foot-long water slide, a tanning deck, a sand-bottomed pool, and 3 3 whirlpool spas. WE LOVE IT HERE! Not to mention you have Beaches & Cream and Hurricane Hanna’s Pool Bar a few feet away!

Hurricane Hanna’s Bar

Hurricane Hanna’s Bar is one of the stops on the Disney Skyliner Bar Crawl we completed. Click here for more on that… & shoutout to Club D3 for the encouragement and drink recommendations along the way!

If you’re looking for more of a relaxing atmosphere there are 2 more leisure pools (one on each property) and a DVC exclusive pool at the Beach Club Villas.

6. The Activities

Like the other Disney Resorts, you can always enjoy activities at the resorts. You have a running trail, outdoor movies, campfires etc. But, unlike at some other properties, here you can also enjoy fishing, an arcade, a volleyball court, and a tennis court. You can also always cross over to the BoardWalk Resort for even more entertainment (I highly recommend Jellyrolls for adults, see video below).

7. Proximity to Other Resorts

I’ve talked plenty about how you can enjoy Disney’s BoardWalk Resort but you also have both the Disney Swan and Disney Dolphin Hotels right next door. They are both Marriott properties but have matched Disney style amenities you can enjoy. There are plenty of bars, and restaurants here like Shula’s Steakhouse (Dolphin Hotel), Phins Bar (Dolphin Hotel), and Garden Grove (Swan Hotel). They also have great Spa services you can choose from!

You can even pool hop over to the Boardwalk for a change of scenery!

8. The Holidays

The holidays are a big deal at Disney! This resort surely indulges in the holiday spirit, with a nautical twist of course. The decor on the holidays at both of these lobbies is second only to the Grand Floridian Resort, in my opinion. See for yourself below:

Both of these resorts always keep us coming back for more, they truly have it all!

You can’t beat the views of EPCOT at night!
